What is litter?

Litter consists of waste products that have been disposed improperly, without consent, at an inappropriate location. Examples of litter products such as trash, paper, cans, and bottles, that is left lying in an open or public place can be very harmful to an environment. Litter such as glass in playgrounds can cause injuries to children and animals who fall or step on it. Litter can also slow the growth of plants, and governments spend tax money each year to clean up litter when otherwise, it could go to other programs. Litter can also affect the economy because investors are less likely to devote funds to an area marred by litter.

The picture above shows that people even litter while on the road. This could also be a danger because this could lead to car accidents and fatal injuries.

I write environmental songs for children. I have a song called, "Don’t Get Bitter About Litter."

Well the earth is getting dirty and there’s no time to waist
When you’re walking down the road you’ll see some trash along the way
CHORUS
When you see some litter
Don’t you get too bitter
Just pick it up and throw it way
Chorus:
When you’re waiting for the bus and there’s not a lot to do
You can organize a cleanup won’t you Mom be proud of you
Chorus:
When I was just a kid I had a real special spot
Where I hid from everybody and I cleaned it up a lot.

It would make a good theme song for a campain
